Position Title: Parole Officer 2
Open To: DOC and BOPP Employees Only
Board of Pardons and Paroles - Waterbury, CT
Hours: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday
$70,470 - $91,580 (Annually)

Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of criminal behavior; considerable knowledge of social, emotional and economic factors which contribute to criminal behavior; considerable knowledge of counseling and interviewing techniques; considerable knowledge of addictions, recovery and/or relapse prevention; considerable knowledge of criminal justice system in Connecticut; knowledge of relevant agency policies and procedures; knowledge of current correctional practices including inmate classification systems, parole eligibility determination and parole process; knowledge of investigative techniques; knowledge of office procedures; knowledge of community resources; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; considerable ability to assess client needs, risk and substance abuse behavior; ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and case histories; ability to organize time, set priorities and manage workload; ability to lead; ability to use computer systems; ability to relate to persons of different cultural and economic backgrounds.
General Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in case management or community supervision activities in parole, probation, rehabilitation counseling or social work in a correctional or community setting.
Preferred Experience: Knowledge involving interstate transfer, detainment, exchange and extradition of inmates and parolees and preparing parole packages for parole release, revocation and release recision hearings.
Special Experience: One (1) year of the General Experience must have been at the level of Parole Officer 1 or Correctional Counselor.
Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must have applied for and passed the Parole Officer 2 exam and be on the current certification list promulgated by the Department of Administrative Services.
