Position Title: Correctional Health Services Program Director
Open To: The Public
Location: Health Services Division, Wethersfield, CT (travel will be required)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift
Hours: 40 Hours per week

Salary: $97,648 - $133,153 annually

This position is responsible for a variety of nursing medical roles, both in the capacity of vendor management and directing of specific programs such as Americans with Disability Act compliance, PREA compliance, OSHA blood spill clean-up program, the CNA program and provide nursing expertise in the Health and Addiction Services Division.  Additionally, this position would be responsible for responding to inmate and inmate family, legal and other complaints/concerns regarding medical care.  May respond to occasional phone call from home.
Eligibility Requirement: Three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience must have been with Nursing Services.  Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in nursing or health care administration and possess and retain a professional nurse license as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. 
Minimum Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; considerable knowledge of relevent state and federal laws, statutes and regulations; considerable knowledge of purposes, plans, objectives and programs of public health agencies, including changing pattern of preventive medicine and environmental health; considerable knowledge of relationships between risk factors and incidence of health problems; considerable knowledge of changing aspects of social-medical philosophies; considerable knowledge of state and community organizations and programs involved in field of public health; knowledge of research and design methodologies; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret data.
Preferred Experience: Correctional health experience.  APRN, with experience writing prescriptions.  Affiliation with professional organizations that support networking and sustain program activities.  Capacity to work collaboratively, and sometimes consultatively, with a variety of state-wide partners.  Willingness for state-wide travel.
