Position Title: Chief of Engineering Services 2

Salary: MP-71 $103,539.00 - $132,804.00

Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must have applied for and passed the open competitive exam for Chief of Engineering Services 2 and be on the current certification list promulgated by the Department of Administrative Services.
Minimum Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; considerable knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statues and regulations; considerable knowledge of building design and construction including aspects of architectural, structural and mechanical engineering and design; considerable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in building design, construction and maintenance; knowledge of leasing agreements; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; ability to estimate costs of building construction, repair and maintenance; ability to prepare plans and specifications and solicit bids for construction and equipment; ability to analyze construction problems and recommend effective solutions; ability to develop preventive maintenance programs for various kinds of facilities; ability to determine space requirements.
Preferred Experience: This position serves as the Director of our Maintenance and Engineering Division, which oversees the upkeep and maintenance of over 322 buildings statewide, as well as new construction initiatives undertaken by the agency and in conjunction with Public Works.  The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing large scale preventative maintenance programs with multiple buildings and locations.  Superior writing skills, communication skills, and leadership ability are needed for this position.
