Position Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Hazardous Duty)

Location: Health Services Division, Wethersfield, CT
Shift: Monday-Friday - 1st Shift
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Salary: $83,545.00 - $113,615.00

Eligibility Requirement:
A current license as an advanced practice registered nurse issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Minimum Qualifications: Provides appropriate nursing and/or health care services to patients including clinical assessments, treatments, diagnosing medical conditions, assessing emergencies, ordering diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, leading cardiac arrest codes and documenting medical care.  Considerable knowledge of nursing principles and clinical therapeutic models; considerable knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations; knowledge of state, federal and local health care agencies and programs; knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to advanced nursing practice; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; considerable clinical assessment and evaluation skills; administrative ability.
Preferred Experience:
Preference will be given to those with previous experience working as a psychiatric APRN, who have worked in Forensic  treatment environments, who have the independent ability to provide assessments/evaluations and treatment, as well as, experience in evaluating risk issues.  Additionally, an understanding of discharge planning and working with collaborating community for the purpose of continuity of care and discharge planning is preferred.  Please note, this position will involve significant travel to Correctional Institutions and community providers throughout the state.
