Electronic Credit Union Services Survey


The Connecticut Department of Banking conducted a year-end 2004 survey of state-chartered credit unions to determine the extent of their involvement with electronic activities.  Follow the link below to view the survey results.  Due to competitive and proprietary concerns, all individual credit union responses have been summarized.  


Executive Summary:

  • 50% of the responding institutions (20 out of 40 credit unions) had an Internet Web site.

  • Every credit union Web site offered deposit and loan rate information, and a majority offered new account and investment product information.

  • Three-quarters of the Web sites offered loan application downloads.

  • Slightly less than half of the surveyed institutions (19 out of 40 credit unions) offered telephone banking.  A large majority of institutions not presently offering telephone banking do plan to offer it within the next 12 months.

  • A little less than half of the responding credit unions (18 out of 40 credit unions) provided debit cards to their members.
