PROUD - Parents Recovering from Opioid Use Disorders
PROUD serves pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders including opioid use disorder in the Greater Hartford and New Britain areas.

Women's and Children's Services
DMHAS funds specialized and comprehensive programs for women and their children.These include residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and specialized care management for women transitioning from a residential setting to community-based recovery services.

The Women's REACH (Recovery, Engagement, Access, Coaching & Healing) program provides statewide integration of 15 Recovery Navigators positioned throughout each of the five DMHAS regions.

Women’s Services Practice Improvement Collaborative
The Women’s Services Practice Improvement Collaborative is designed to enhance DMHAS' behavioral health service system for women. The goal was to improve the quality of services for women receiving substance use treatment in Connecticut, and thus the treatment outcomes, by participation in a recovery-oriented treatment system of care, incorporating current best practices in gender-responsive and trauma-informed programming.

Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA)/Family Care Plan
Recent changes to federal legislation around the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) and Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA) have outlined new state mandates requiring data collection around the impact of substance exposed infants and development of plans of safe care nationwide.
