TRAIN is the premier learning resource for professionals who protect the public's health. A free service and resource provided by the CT Department of Public Health, it is part of the newly expanded Training Finder Real-time Affiliate Integrated Network (TRAIN).

The Handbook for Appointed Officials highlights the important aspects about working in the executive branch of state government as an appointed official and provides you with the most recent information about work policies and regulations, ethics, and benefits regarding your appointment.

The Management Advisory Council was created by Executive Order #6 in 1983. The purpose of the Council is to advise the Commissioner of Administrative Services and the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management regarding the needs of State managers, including career development, benefits and training. 

The State of Connecticut New Managers Program is designed to provide new managers to state government (newly hired or newly promoted) with a broad overview concerning a multitude of topics and provide written and electronic resources to aid in accurate completion of their work. This program consists of 11 training modules offered in ½ modules (except for Module 3 offered as a full day program).

DAS determines the eligibility list for this program. However registration for this program is only available for those managers as registered by the Agency Human Resource Office. Please contact your Facility HR Office for additional information.

The Department of Administrative Services Learning Center provides specialized training for Connecticut state employees, in the areas of human resources, managerial support, computers, safety, and career development. 

7.  E-Learning RESOURCES

E-Learning Resource Topics include 675 areas in 75 Categories and are applicable to Supervisors, Managers and Leaders within the non-profit setting.

The DMHAS Office of Workforce Development offers web-based training, safety and education training and addiction recovery training plus links to resources to a variety of other behavioral health topics.
