Welcome to the DMHAS Website

I hope you find the information presented here useful in your search for mental health and addiction services within the State of Connecticut. The Department is continuously updating and improving the site in order to provide you with the widest variety of links, from 24-hour crisis numbers and problem gambling services, to advocacy and support groups and regional directories of our many state-operated and funded programs.

While the Department's prevention services serve all Connecticut citizens, our mandate is to serve adults (over 18 years of age) with psychiatric or substance use disorders, or both, who lack the financial means to obtain such services on their own.  For a general overview of our Department and its mission please visit the About Us link.

The DMHAS website is an efficient way of communicating to our many stakeholders across Connecticut, be it an individual in recovery looking for services in their area, a family member seeking help for a loved one, or an individual looking for employment opportunities within the department.  We also frequently post breaking news under the What’s New section of our homepage to keep you updated with the latest information.

The DMHAS web site is really about and for the citizens of ConnecticutThere is no single thread that creates healthy communities; but rather, like a “web” it is how we weave many threads into a network that values recovery, inclusion and respect.

I invite you to share your ideas as to how we can make our system perform better and more efficiently utilize our resources. I am particularly interested in the successes you have achieved in your communities as well as your most critical challenges and gravest concerns.

In the meantime, I hope you find this site a useful and informative tool.
