Nonprofit Security Grant Programs – State and Federal Programs

CT NSGP: The State of Connecticut FY 2021 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (CT NSGP) application period is now open. CT NSGP is a new state funded competitive grant program that provides reimbursement to awarded nonprofit organizations for security infrastructure improvements.  Eligible applicants are 501(c) (3) organizations that are at heightened risk of being the target of a terrorist attack, hate crime, or violent act. Applications will be ranked and awarded based on the demonstrated need for security improvements. Awards will be issued until the available funds of $5M are expended.

NSGP-S: The federal guidance for the FY2021 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP-S) will be released later this month. This is a competitive federal grant program. Eligible applicants are 501(c) (3) organizations that are at heightened risk of being the target of a terrorist attack. Interested applicants can begin the process of preparing their application using the FY 2020 guidance and the application materials below.  Additional guidance will be provided and updated on this website when the federal guidance is released later this month. Applications will be submitted by the State to DHS/FEMA. Applications will be ranked and DHS/FEMA will determine the final selection for award.

The application and award cap for both programs is $50,000 per site/facility.

Questions on both programs may be sent to demhs.nsgp@ct.gov.
