Keynote Speaker
Commissioner Daniel Esty, Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection, gave the Keynote Address at the Geological Society of America Banquet, March 19, 2012.
Commissioner Esty was well received by the geoscience community. As keynote speaker, the Commissioner offered his vision of the integration of the geosciences with energy and environmental issues. He fielded questions on waste reduction, geothermal energy, fracking, environmental education, and the role of academia in public discourse on science issues.
