2024 Opening Update

At present, the museum is working on repairs to existing ceilings in our exhibit areas. Because of possible delays in this work, we are unable at this time to confirm our opening date.  If you are making travel plans to visit the museum, please reach out to us at crandall.museum@ct.gov to confirm that the museum will be open. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

Tues / Wed     CLOSED

Thurs    Reserved for pre-booked groups of 10 or more.  See below for more information.

Tours are limited to 15 people. Tickets can be purchased on-site on in advance through Eventbrite. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged.

The museum is closed the following days: Memorial Day (5/29), Labor Day (9/4), and Indigenous Peoples Day (10/9).

Active Military and their families are FREE.

As part of the Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor,
the Prudence Crandall Museum offers an official National

Peace Garden at the Prudence Crandall Museum

Before You Visit

  • The Peace Garden includes benches and picnic tables (we do not regularly clean these benches or tables). Please use the trash bin. The Peace Garden is open for public use at all times with no fee.
  • The museum has one restroom, and it is accessible.
  • It is recommended arriving as close to your tour time as possible as there are no indoor waiting areas. The Peace Garden is a welcoming space in nice weather.
  • Admissions can be purchased on-site at the front desk or on-line through Eventbrite.
  • The museum is not a self-guided experience.
  • Tours are limited to 15 people.
  • Masks are welcome and optional.

Student and Organization Group Visits

School visits and programs are not being scheduled at this time. College and university classes can sign up for adult group visits.

The Museum has reserved Thursdays for group visits.  Please contact staff if a different day is preferred.
