College of Direct Support
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) offers web-based courses through the College of Direct Support (CDS) to DDS employees private providers, employees hired directly by individuals and families. The CDS program currently includes on-line training courses, each with multiple lessons and competency assessments, on topics such as Developmental Disabilities, Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults and Children, Individual Rights, ADA, Supporting Safe and Healthy Lives, Cultural Competency, Positive Behavioral Supports & Crisis Intervention, Documentation and Record Keeping, Building and Maintaining Friendships, Direct Support Professionalism, Employment Supports, Person-centered Planning, and Frontline Supervision and Management.  The CDS System also includes a learning management system to assign and track completion of courses and produce management reports.
