Controlled Substance Charges and Schedules

The document below provides a compilation of the most commonly encountered controlled drugs, listed alphabetically by brand and generic and/or street name.  This list contains the schedule in which each drug is classified, other names by which it is known, and the related criminal charge and penalty for possession and sale.

Also included is a condensation of the controlled drug charges and penalties derived from Chapter 420b of the Connecticut General Statutes. This section includes examples of drugs included under each charge and also offers a compilation of the statutes that would be utilized in the cases involving the illicit manufacturing of controlled substances such as methamphetamine, and a synopsis of federal methamphetamine legislation on the sale of psuedoephedrine type products.
