Private residences: Invoices and Work Orders

All work on a private residence by a licensed occupational tradesperson or a business providing the work or services of licensed occupational tradespersons must provide a written invoice or work order that includes the following information:

  • The full legal name and license number of the tradesperson.
  • The licensed tradesperson’s address and phone number or, in the case of a business, the business's address and phone number.
  • A description of the work or services.
  • The labor and material costs of the work or services.
  • The date(s) the work or services were performed.
  • The complete name of each tradesperson who performed work or services.

A “private residence” means a single-family home, a multifamily home of six or fewer units, or a unit, common element or limited common element in a condominium, common interest community, or any number of condominium units.
