Special Council Meeting Minutes

The 230th meeting of the CT Council on Developmental Disabilities was held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Microsoft Teams.

1. Call to Order: With a quorum present, James Hexter, Chair, called the special meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
2. Public Comment: There was no public comment.
3. Approval of Agenda:Joyce Lewis motioned to approve the agenda. Kevin Daly seconded the motion. The agenda was approved.
4. Discussion and Approval of State Plan Objectives:Council Members reviewed and discussed the goals and objectives for the draft of their new Five-Year Plan. April Burke made a motion to accept the draft of the Council’s new Five-Year Plan. Antonia Edwards seconded the motion. The motion approved the draft for circulation for public comment. Final approval of the Plan will take place at the Council’s July 13th meeting, if not earlier. The motion passed unanimously.
5. Discussion and Approval of Plan for ACL Vaccine Access Grant: The Council discussed ways to use the grant to make the Covid-19 vaccine more accessible to people with developmental disabilities. Methods will reviewed at the Council’s next meeting in May.
6. Announcements and Adjournment:April Burke made a motion for adjournment. Charles Bergamo seconded the motion. The meeting concluded at 11:45 a.m. The next Council meeting will be the Council’s Public Forum to be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., online, via Microsoft Teams.
