Rehabilitation Order of HealthyCT, Inc.
On November 1, 2016, the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut issued a Rehabilitation Order placing HealthyCT, Inc. (“HealthyCT”) into Rehabilitation and naming Insurance Commissioner Katharine L. Wade as the company’s Rehabilitator. Rehabilitation is a proceeding conducted under the supervision of the Superior Court pursuant to Chapter 704c of the Connecticut General Statutes. In July the Insurance Commissioner issued an order of supervision of HealthyCT. For individual policyholders coverage remains in effect until December 31, 2016. For group policyholders, HealthyCT stopped renewing policies after July 1, 2016 and coverage remains in effect until the end of the policy year. The Rehabilitation Order is the next step in the orderly run off of HealthyCT’s business.
