Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC)

August 1, 2017:
  • Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC) renewal notifications were emailed to all active licensees the last week in July, 2017. If you did not receive your renewal notification, please email the Department at cid.licensing@ct.gov, to request a copy.
  • You will want to verify and/or update your information by using our Online Change in License Information link.
  • Once you have completed all questions, sign and date the renewal application, submit the completed application and fee.
Types of payments accepted:
  • Check or Money Order (No cash or credit card payments are accepted.)
  • Make payable to: “Treasurer, State of Connecticut”
  • Fee: $250.00
  • Be sure to write your name and license number on the check.
  • An electronic process via NIPR or CT Insurance Department website is NOT available at this time.
Confirmation of renewed license:
Once the renewed license has been approved, the Department will send an email with instructions for how to PRINT the updated license.
Note: The Department does not issue hard copies of licenses.
Failure to renew on time:
If you fail to submit the $250.00 renewal fee postmarked by the September 30, 2017 expiration date, your license will cancel for non-renewal.
How to reinstate:
After September 30, 2017, you may reinstate the license by going to the Department’s website at: https://cidonline.ct.gov/lit/CTLicensingTask.jsp. The reinstatement fee is $300.00.
