Segway Demonstration at CFA

The Segway Human Transporter (www.Segway.com) is a new transportation device in use by a number of organizations including the National Park Service, U.S. Postal Service and a number of EMS departments to move people and materials in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.  It may also have particular applications for the fire service.

Orders for these devices are currently being taken and they will be hitting the sidewalks and park trails for use by the general public starting March of this year.  As such, the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control wanted to provide you an opportunity to view this device up close and learn first response protocols, and consider whether the device could help in your organization.

A demonstration of the Segway will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks.
