Model Guidelines for Volunteer Emergency Personnel
Public Act 06-22 required the State Fire Administrator to develop model guidelines to be used by municipalities with paid emergency personnel and municipalities with volunteer emergency personnel entering into cooperative agreements authorizing the paid personnel to serve as volunteers during personal time.
The Model Guidelines for Volunteer Emergency Personnel are voluntary and do not supersede any collective bargaining agreements nor do they prohibit any form of collective bargaining including the prohibition of volunteering.
