Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection

Effective July 1, 2011, the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control – Connecticut Fire Academy is involved in an agency consolidation with the newly-created Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection under the leadership of Commissioner Reuben Bradford.  The Commission is now a Division within the new agency, alongside the Division of State Police; Fire Investigations and Emergency Telecommunications; Scientific Services; Emergency Management and Homeland Security and Police Officer Standards and Training (POST).

As the merger/consolidation takes shape over the next several weeks and months additional information will be available regarding any operational changes.  At present our website remains the same  While the transition is taking place, please continue to check back here for up-to-date information before a new, consolidated website is launched in the near future.
