Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection

Effective July 1, 2011, the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control – Connecticut Fire Academy is involved in an agency consolidation with the newly-created Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection under the leadership of Commissioner Reuben Bradford.  The Commission is now a Division within the new agency, alongside the Division of State Police; Fire Investigations and Emergency Telecommunications; Scientific Services; Emergency Management and Homeland Security and Police Officer Standards and Training (POST).

As the merger/consolidation takes shape over the next several weeks and months additional information will be available regarding any operational changes.  At present our website remains the same www.ct.gov/cfpc.  While the transition is taking place, please continue to check back here for up-to-date information before a new, consolidated website is launched in the near future.
