2013 National Volunteer Week
Local Volunteer Fire Departments are Encouraged to Celebrate the Power of Volunteerism during National Volunteer Week
Middletown, CT, April 19, 2013 – The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection’s Commission on Fire Prevention and Control joined the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association today to celebrate National Volunteer Week, a time dedicated to demonstrate that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet a communities many challenges and serve our neighbors.
National Volunteer Week, April 21-27, is about taking action and encouraging individuals to consider serving their community as well as thank and recognize those already volunteering as firefighters and Emergency Medical Service providers. Serving your community as a volunteer firefighter or EMT is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. Not only will you learn valuable skills, but you will also have a positive impact on the lives of those around you.
