CLEAN SWEEP FOR NORWICH

It's Official! This year's Public Life Safety Educator Conference will be awarding the Team Award to the City Of Norwich Fire Department Public Education Committee based upon their history of presenting a year long program dealing with fire prevention, seat belt use, Fire Hawks, sprinkler education, poster contest sponsorship, Firefighter Phil, and car seat installations.

Their program will be explained in greater detail at the conference.

The choice for individual Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year is Deputy Chief William (Bill, Gunner) Tessier; one of the founding fathers of the "Pub Ed" program in Connecticut. Since the early '80s when a three day conference was held in East Hartford for teachers and principals to today when he is seeking to institute Risk Watch into his city, Bill has been a strength to rely upon for support for public safety initiatives.

Congratulations to the Norwich team and to Bill.

Come celebrate with Bill and the Norwich team at the Public Fire and Life Safety Education Conference on April 25 at the Red Cross Building in Farmington.

Applications have been mailed to all firehouses or call 1-877-5CT-FIRE extension 238. There are 6 fire marshal credits attached to this conference.
