The 1st Annual Vehicle Fire Investigation School was presented by the Office of Education and Data Management and the Office of State Fire Marshal in cooperation with the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control on October 31 and November 1 at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks.
The day and a half program focused on the legal aspects of vehicle fire investigations, reviewed Connecticut law pertaining to vehicle search and seizure and addressed the methods used to properly determine origin and cause of vehicle fires, all of which will assist the experienced investigator to render a reliable opinion.
Instructors for the program included State's Attorney Mary M. Galvin and Dennis Lyons, President of S.D. Lyons, Inc. a fire investigation firm.
