Candidate Physical Ability Testing (CPAT)
The application deadline for the Fall 2013 CPAT testing cycle is July 25, 2013. Anybody intending to participate in the Fall 2013 CPAT must have their application and test fee of $150.00 received by the Connecticut Fire Academy training registrar by the close of business on July 25, 2013. Anyone whose application is received after the deadline will not be allowed to participate in the Fall 2013 CPAT. The Connecticut Fire Academy will not offer another CPAT test until the Spring 2014. The testing fee can be paid via check, money order, or credit card (Visa or Master Card only)DO NOT SEND CASH VIA THE MAIL.
All candidates who successfully register for the Fall 2013 CPAT testing cycle will receive a letter of confirmation that lists the dates of all their events (two orientations, two practice tests, and the final CPAT) Retain this letter of confirmation and bring it with you to the CPAT Center in Meriden CT. each day you are scheduled for an event.
IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER BY 14 DAYS AFTER THE APPLICATION DEADLINE YOU MUST CONTACT THE CONNECTICUT FIRE ACADEMY TRAINING REGISTRAR TO CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED. FAILURE TO MAKE THIS INQUIRY IN A TIMELY FASHION MAY PREVENT YOU FROM TESTING DURING THE FALL 2013 TEST CYCLE.

Anyone registering for CPAT is strongly urged to download and review both documents as they will help you understand the testing process and give you advice on how to prepare for the physical challenges involved in participating in the CPAT.
