The Metropolitan District Commission Reservoir 2 is a 40 acre water body located in West Hartford, CT.  All of the shoreline is forested with a walking path along the southeastern shore and a damn located on the center of the eastern shore. For this survey the CAES IAPP team also included Dyke Pond (7 acres).  The bathymetry of the reservoir drops off quickly with deepest point noted at 35.7 feet. Gravel terrain was found to depths of approximately 20 feet and very little vegetation.  There were many tree stumps in between Reservoir 2 and Dyke Pond which had more organic terrain and spotty vegetation.  Only two native aquatic plant species were found; Ludwigia sp. (water primrose) and Potamogeton bicupulatus (snail-seed pondweed). These plants grew only in Dyke Pond but fragments were found floating in Reservoir 2 along with unidentified sedges growing along the shoreline.

No aquatic plant control is necessary in Reservoir 2.
