Wyler Pond is a 0.1-acre private waterbody located in Weston, CT. The pond is less than a meter deep, with aquatic vegetation reaching much of its surface. Our CAES IAPP 2016 aquatic plant survey found five native species and one invasive species present. The invasive parrotfeather (Myriophyllum aquaticum) was found growing in a dense ring around the perimeter of the lake. A free floating species, common duckweed (Lemna minor), covered almost the entire surface of the pond. Coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum), western waterweed (Elodea nuttallii), and small pondweed (Potamogeton pusillus) were also found in relatively equal abundances. No transects were performed.
