Water Data

Basserman Pond is a small, residential  0.1-acre pond that is about 3.0 meters (9 feet) deep. Due to the size of this water body, no transect data was generated. A visual survey was conducted by simply walking around the pond and obtaining plants with a rake or grapple.

During our June, 2009 survey only parrotfeather (Myriophyllum aquaticum) and arrowhead (Sagittaria species) were present in the pond. Parrotfeather is invasive, and this is one of the few overwintering populations we have found. It was found throughout most of the pond. Arrowhead was found mixed with parrotfeather along the shore in the southern end of the pond.
