Call to Order

Chairman Frank P. Blando announced at 10:00 a.m. that the meeting would be cancelled due to the fact there were not enough board members present to be a quorum. Each of the 8 cases were called up individually and given a choice of dates for their cases to be heard.

The standard introductory statement and roll call of board members present was not done. A roll call of the appellant and issuing authorities did occur.  Five appellants were present, two appellants failed to appear. One Issuing Authority failed to appear.  One case were resolved the day before the hearing. The State Issuing Authority and five local Issuing Authorities were present.

Board Members Present: Chairman Frank P. Blando, Esq., Secretary Col. Kyle Overturf, Chief Carl Rosensweig and Mr. M. Peter Kuck.

Board Members Absent: Dr. William Sledge, Gudrun Johnson and Atty. Carolyn Futtner

Hearings: Eight cases were called up:

1) Case No. 17-095-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. This case has been continued until September 6, 2018.

2) Case No. 17-484-R, involving the revocation of a pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. The appellant withdrew his appeal. Case will not be going forward.

3) Case No. 17-029-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. Attorney Ralph Sherman represented the appellant and they agreed to continue this case until October 4, 2018 along with the local Issuing Authority, Waterbury Police Department.

4) Case No. 17-137-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. Attorney Ralph Sherman represented the appellant and they agreed to continue this case until October 4, 2018 along with the local Issuing Authority, Danbury Police Department.

5) Case No. 17-344-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. Attorney Ralph Sherman represented the appellant and they agreed to continue this case until October 4, 2018 along with the local Issuing Authority, Stratford Police Department.

6) Case No. 17-740-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. This case has been continued until September 6, 2018 along with the local Issuing Authority, East Haven Police Department.

7) Case No. 17-087-D, involving the denial of a temporary pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. This case has been continued until September 6, 2018. Neither party appeared for this case.

8) Case No. 17-393-R, involving the revocation of a pistol permit to carry pistols and revolvers. This case was resolve prior to the hearing.  No action needed on this case.
