Connecticut to Appeal Purdue Bankruptcy Plan
Attorney General William Tong filed formal notice today with the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York that Connecticut will appeal a controversial and unprecedented decision that purports to extinguish Connecticut’s claims against both Purdue Pharma and the non-bankrupt Sackler family.

Attorney General Tong Joins Coalition Fighting Texas Abortion Ban, Vows to Fight in Every Court in Every State Where Choice is Under Attack
Attorney General William Tong has joined a coalition of 24 attorneys general in a court brief challenging the Texas six-week abortion ban as an unconstitutional effort to overturn nearly five decades of Supreme Court precedent. With additional states across the country seeking to impose additional barriers to safe access to reproductive healthcare, Attorney General Tong today was joined by Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, advocates, and legislators in vowing to continue the fight in every court in every state where access to abortion care is under attack.

Attorney General Tong Responds to Insurance Rate Hikes
Attorney General William Tong today reacted to news that the Connecticut Insurance Department has approved health insurance rate increases averaging 5.6 percent for the individual market and 6.7 percent for the small group market. In approving the increases, the Insurance Department did reduce rates requested by insurers by 35 percent for the individual market and by 48 percent for the small group market.
