Attorney General Calls On NFL To Lift TV Blackout Of Tonight’s Giants-Vikings Football Game

December 13, 2010

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today called on the National Football League to lift its Connecticut television blackout of tonight’s game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings.

Blumenthal sent an email today to NFL Vice President for Governmental Affairs and Public Policy asking the league to reconsider its decision to black out the contest.

“This blackout is unfair and arbitrary, equivalent to a personal foul,” Blumenthal said. “Giants fans should not be punished because of a stadium roof collapse in Minnesota. The NFL needs to do the right thing and restore Connecticut TV coverage of tonight’s contest. Fans expect and deserve to see their favorite teams compete on TV.”
