Attorney General Applauds Postal Service Decision Not To Close Baybrook Post Office In West Haven

December 10, 2009

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today applauded the U.S. Postal Service's removal of the Baybrook station in West Haven from a list of post offices slated for possible closure.

Blumenthal learned of the decision in a letter from the post office.

Blumenthal helped to lead community grounds and public officials in the fight to save the post office.

"I am delighted that community voices and advocates have been heeded and this post office saved," Blumenthal said. "Citizens and activists made the difference in their vigorous advocacy -- standing up and speaking out for this valuable resource. I am proud of the strong and successful alliance that turned the tide and kept Baybrook open."
