Secondary Transition Resources During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Bureau of Special Education is excited to share with you some Professional Support Series webinars and resources, which can be found on the CSDE Professional Support Series for Families webpage and CSDE Professional Support Series for Districts webpage (in the Guidance on Special Education section).

During statewide school classroom closures, school districts are required to provide special education and related services, which includes transition services, identified in a student’s IEP developed pursuant to the IDEA, to the greatest extent possible. For transition-age students, this means offering transition services to assist the student in reaching their postsecondary goals, which are based upon age-appropriate transition assessments related to postsecondary education or training AND employment, and, if appropriate, independent living skills. This webinar will provide an overview of the resource list, which includes activities and resources related to providing continued educational opportunities and the provision of transition services during this unprecedented time.
