Teacher of the Year Ceremony
Due to inclement weather, the Teacher of the Year Ceremony has been postponed to December 16, 2025 from 5-7pm. Doors will open at 4pm. The Ceremony will take place at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford, and the order of events will remain the same.

On January 24, 2020, the Bureau of Special Education released the following notification to the field.

Please find an updated guidance memorandum related to Initial Evaluation Timeline: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/SDE/Special-Education/Timeline-for-Initial-Evaluation-Memo.pdf?la=en

This guidance will replace the December 21, 2018 guidance document titled: Timelines for Initial Evaluations

Additionally, we have revised the model Special Education Procedures and Practices Manual to reflect the updated guidance (specifically page 30): https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/SDE/Special-Education/Special-Education-Procedures-and-Practices-Manual.pdf

Please update your district manual accordingly.
