- 34 Certified Federal Register (CFR) Section 300.613: Each school district or agency must permit parents to inspect and review any education records relating to their children that are collected, maintained, or used by the school district or agency when requested. This request must be complied without unnecessary delay.
- Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies (RCSA) Sec. 10-76d-18 (Education records and reports): Each board of education shall maintain records concerning children with disabilities or children referred for an evaluation to determine the child’s eligibility for special education and related services consistent with the requirements of the IDEA, except as provided in this section.
Conclusion(s):
- The District substantially complied with the request from the Parent for academic records to be copied and secured within ten business days. The District realized that one document was not available due to the electronic storage and transfer of files from Frontline to CT-SEDS and is in the process of securing this document to send to the Parent. Therefore, the District complied with the regulatory requirement and no corrective action is required.
