CSDE Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) Notifies Families of Greater Hartford Magnet Placements for 2021-22
(Hartford) - The Connecticut State Department of Education’s (CSDE) Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) today notified families who applied to a school choice program in the Greater Hartford Region of their students’ placements for the 2021-22 school year. More than 4,700 Connecticut students received a placement offer at one of the Interdistrict Magnet Schools or Open Choice Schools in the Greater Hartford Region.
“We are proud to be a part of the incredible team of choice partners whose hard work, collaboration, and dedication have provided Connecticut families with this choice education opportunity,” CSDE Regional School Choice Director Robin Cecere said. “I am hopeful that the placement offers are a bright spot for families in what has been a challenging year. We look forward to families accepting their placement offers and saving their seat with RSCO!”
“We are thrilled to once again offer thousands of Greater Hartford students unique academic opportunities tailored to their interests and learning preferences,” CSDE Chief Strategic Planning Officer Keith Norton said. “I encourage any family who has received an offer to quickly accept and begin this great educational journey.”
School choice opportunities bring students together from across Connecticut and provide an exciting and diverse educational environment that inspires life-long learning and friendships. There is a limited amount of time to respond to placement offers, and families should refer to their notification letter for their respective deadline to accept the offer of placement. For those families who did not receive a placement offer at this time, RSCO will continue to place students through the spring and summer months as seats become available.
RSCO asks families to monitor their e-mail accounts and log into the online application regularly for updates. Families who received a placement offer can visit https://bit.ly/YesSaveMySeat for important information and resources.
For more information, families may visit RSCO Virtual Fairs website to access helpful information to navigate their options, including a calendar of events, videos, answers to frequently asked questions, and other resources. The RSCO office staff is available to support families and answer their questions and can be reached by e-mail at rsco.sde@ct.gov or phone at 860-713-6990. #YesSaveMySeat
