WHO IS CONSIDERED A VICTIM?
A person is considered a victim if the person is the victim of a crime, the legal representative of such person or a member of the deceased victim's immediate family.
WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS OF THE VICTIM?
- Right to be notified of all Board and court hearings concerning the acquittee’s status, Board or court decisions and if the acquittee escapes
- Right to make a victim impact statement at any Board or court hearing concerning the acquittee
WHAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE VICTIM?
The victim must provide the Psychiatric Security Review Board with his or her current contact information. The victim can reactivate his or her right to notification at any time by providing the Psychiatric Security Review Board with current contact information.
