The Pentagon released a long-awaited list Monday showing which military construction projects are eligible for delay to fund a border wall.
Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff and director of the Office of Management and Budget had said as recently as Sunday that there was no list of projects to be cut, as On Base reported.
The document said specific projects have not been selected but weeded out projects that have already been awarded or will be this year, as well as construction on housing, barracks and dorms.
“Now that members of Congress can see the potential impact this proposal could have on projects in their home states, I hope they will take that into consideration before the vote to override the President’s veto,” Senate Armed Services Committee ranking member Jack Reed (D-R.I.) said in a statement.
Reed and other Democrats wanted such a list before voting on a resolution to reverse President Trump’s national emergency declaration. The President vetoed the resolution, and Congress does not appear to have the votes to override it.
