The Connecticut Office of Health Strategy reached an agreed settlement with Prospect ECHN, Manchester Memorial Hospital  and Rockville General Hospital (RGH) requiring preservation of the current services at RGH.

To remain exempt from federal, state and local taxes, nonprofit hospitals must provide goods and services to benefit the community. These goods and services are broadly known as “Hospital Community Benefits.” The Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS) publishes an analysis of the community benefit and community-building activities of the state’s nonprofit acute care hospitals annually.

The Office of Health Strategy (OHS) invites the public to provide comments on the Community Benefit Summary and Analysis Report.

Under the agreement, ownership of Danbury, (including the New Milford campus), Norwalk and Sharon Hospitals will be transferred to Northwell Health, a 21-hospital non-profit integrated care delivery system in New York.

The Connecticut Healthcare Benchmark Initiative issued its latest findings today based on performance year 2023 data. The reports show that while healthcare quality remains steady for the most part, cost growth is leaving consumers behind.

The Office of Health Strategy has published the Statewide Health Care Facility and Services Plan. The Plan and accompanying inventory, effective March 15, 2025, serve as advisory documents and a blueprint for health care delivery in Connecticut.
