(Hartford, CT)- “Kevin is an incredible public servant. Today our state suffers a tremendous loss following the news of Kevin’s resignation,” Office of Health Strategy (OHS) Executive Director Vicki Veltri said. “From his participation in ensuring state-based protections for consumers as part of the drafting of the federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, to his leadership in helping drafters of the Affordable Care Act to include consumer assistance programs across the United States similar to the Office of the Healthcare Advocate (OHA), to his role in developing new payment and delivery models, his presence on the healthcare stage goes beyond Connecticut. I am proud to have served with him at OHA as the agency’s first general counsel, to try to fill his very big shoes at the Healthcare Advocate, and to have partnered with him on multiple healthcare initiatives to address healthcare affordability and access. We at OHS are incredibly grateful for Kevin’s partnership, and his legendary public service. Our state is in a better place because of his tireless advocacy, the work to achieve equitable, accessible, affordable healthcare for all CT residents will continue. To my friend, I wish you and Charles and your family only the best.”
