Governor Lamont Proposes Legislation Focused on Creating an Agile, Equitable, and High-Performing Workforce in Connecticut
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he plans to introduce legislation during the 2021 regular session of the Connecticut General Assembly that focuses on building a robust workforce in Connecticut by developing and investing in short-term training programs, increasing access to postsecondary education, enhancing workforce data collection efforts, and codifying a new state office focused on workforce development.

Governor Lamont Announces Tiered Approach To Phase 1b Vaccine Appointments
With nearly 1.4 million individuals included in Phase 1b of Connecticut’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout and the state anticipating to receive about 45,000 doses of vaccine per week from the federal government, Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing the Connecticut Department of Public Health to proceed through the remaining groups in the phase with a tiered approach based on risk of adverse health outcomes from the virus.

Governor Lamont Approves Deployment of 200 Additional Members of the Connecticut National Guard To Washington, D.C.
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that at the request of United States National Guard leadership, he is authorizing the deployment of an additional 200 members of the Connecticut National Guard to Washington, D.C. to aid and facilitate the peaceful transition of presidential power for the upcoming inauguration, bringing Connecticut’s contribution to more than 300 Guardsmen.
