Governor Lamont Extends State’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol Through February 2, Urges Residents To Prepare for Below Normal Temperatures for Next Two Weeks
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to trends in the forecast indicating that temperatures in Connecticut will generally average about 10 degrees below normal for the next two weeks, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol – which he activated on Friday, January 14 – to remain in effect through noon on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. It was originally set to expire on Wednesday, January 19.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the State of Connecticut has distributed a total of 3.1 million COVID-19 self-tests over the last two weeks, with about 1 million distributed in the last two days alone.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that as arctic temperatures and stormy weather are anticipated to move into Connecticut over the next several days, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol to be activated beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, and remaining in effect through 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
