Governor Lamont Nominates Judge Joan Alexander to Supreme Court, Judge Hope Seeley to Appellate Court, and 11 Jurists to Superior Court
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is nominating Judge Joan K. Alexander of Cromwell to serve as an associate justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court; Judge Hope Seeley of Coventry to serve as a judge of the Connecticut Appellate Court; and 11 other jurists to serve as judges of the Connecticut Superior Court.

Governor Lamont Applauds President Biden’s Actions Cracking Down on Ghost Guns
Governor Ned Lamont is applauding President Joe Biden on his announcement today that he is taking new executive actions to crack down on ghost guns, including through the implementation of a federal rule that will require commercial manufacturers of gun assembly kits to include serial numbers on the kits, similar to those that are required on all other commercially-made firearms in the U.S.

Governor Ned Lamont – in collaboration with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunity (CHRO) and the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) – today announced that after a competitive bidding process, Griffin & Strong, P.C. has been awarded Contract #21PSX0035 to perform an independent disparity study relative to the State of Connecticut’s contracting practices and procedures.

Governor Lamont Signs Legislation Expanding Eligibility for Absentee Ballots
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed legislation (Public Act 22-2) expanding two of the six statutory reasons under which voters in Connecticut can qualify for an absentee ballot during an election, primary, or referendum by allowing out-of-town commuters and caretakers of those who are ill or have a disability to vote by absentee ballot.
