Consumer Counsel Coleman Commends PURA Ordered Rate Decrease for Avangrid Gas Subsidiaries
Today, Consumer Counsel Coleman commends the Final Decision issued by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority in Docket No. 23-08-32 in which PURA ordered a decrease in revenues of $24.6 million and $10.72 million for CNG and SCG, respectively.

Consumer Counsel Coleman Commends PURA Rejection of Verizon Bid to Bypass State Oversight
Today, Consumer Counsel Coleman applauded the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority's ("PURA") final decision in Docket 24-06-15 denying Verizon's petition for reclassification and retirement of its alternative form of regulation plan which would have nullified critical consumer protections.

OCC July 2024 Newsletter
The Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC) released its July 2024 newsletter containing important information for consumers, such as changes in Standard Service rates effecting electric bills and a summary of OCC’s advocacy during the 2024 legislative session, as well as highlighting many hard-earned achievements the OCC team fought for on behalf of Connecticut’s utility customers across state and federal forums.

Consumer Counsel Coleman Applauds PURA Decision, $2.5 Million in Civil Penalties to Frontier Communications as a Result of OCC Petition for Investigation
On January 8, 2024, the Office of Consumer Counsel filed a petition with the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to investigate Frontier Communications prolonged and well-documented noncompliance with longstanding state standards for providing service to customers. PURA's decision and subsequent Notice of Violation confirmed OCC's findings.
