Does OCA help families directly?
No. The OCA does not run programs or provide legal help. The OCA makes sure children in Connecticut are safe and treated fairly. OCA reviews how state and private agencies care for children and speaks up when changes are needed.
We guide you to other resources if you need immediate help:
- Department of Children and Families (DCF): portal.ct.gov/dcf
- 211 Infoline: 211 or 211ct.org
If OCA can’t help me, what should I do?
You can call 1-800-994-0939 (option 1) or email oca@ct.gov. The staff can tell you where to go for help and how to get other State services.
