Gov. Malloy's 2014 State Regulatory Review Period
In October 2013, Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed Executive Order No. 37, creating a public review period aimed at streamlining state regulations in order to make state government more efficient, more transparent, and more responsive, especially for small businesses. The review period invited the members of the public to submit comments on state regulations, due by December 16, 2013. In addition, it required each state agency to conduct an independent review of all regulations under such agency's jurisdiction, due by February 3, 2014.
Governor Malloy intends on using the information as a guide to introduce legislation streamlining state agency regulations during the 2014 Regular Session of the General Assembly.
