Telework January 13, 2023 - July 13, 2023

For CTDOL employees to continue teleworking, the following steps are required:
  • STEP 1 - The employee must complete the Telework Application Request Form.
  • STEP 2 - The employee’s director must approve the employee’s Request Form.

If, due to COVID fragility, an employee would like to request telework hours/days in excess of what is allowable, you must submit your request and documentation to Neil.Griffin@ct.gov by November 18, 2022.

  • Please inform your manager/supervisor.
  • Please note that teleworking in excess of 80% due to COVID fragility may end prior to July 13, 2023.

If an employee is not COVID fragile but would like to request telework hours/days in excess of what is allowable due to other situations covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please contact Muriel.Carpentier@ct.gov by November 18, 2022.

Telework Application Request Form
(STEP 1)

By December 2, 2022, CTDOL employees will be required to submit the Semi-Annual Telework Application Request Form Effective for Telework Beginning Jan 13, 2023 if they intend to telework routinely or situationally between January 13, 2023 and July 13, 2023.

Who must submit the form?
  • Any employee requesting routine or situational telework for the time period above.
  • Any employee who teleworks now and is requesting the same schedule they are currently on.
  • Employees in classifications that have been approved to telework 100%.

Who does not have to submit the form?
  • Any employee in the Temporary Worker (Retiree) classification.
  • Any employee who does not intend to telework.

Using the form to request telework

Routine telework must be requested as full days.

Situational teleworking may also be requested in full or part days. Employees requesting situational telework do not have to indicate on the form which day(s) or portions of days they may be teleworking.

Below are additional tips for completing the form:

  • All questions marked with an asterisk (*) are required; you must answer them to submit the form.
  • In the Employee ID field, you should only enter digits. Do not enter any letters or other characters.
  • In the Facility field, enter your unit’s name.
  • In the Division field, enter “N/A”.
  • In the Office/desk address (location) field, enter “N/A”.
  • In the Union/Management/Appointed field, employees in a P2 classification should select the Social and Human Services (P-2) option. This option is the third one from the bottom of the list of classifications on the form.

Director Approval
(STEP 2)

Directors must approve the request form and should do so as soon as a determination is made on the request.

  • Some units may not be able to approve individual telework requests until all unit members have submitted telework forms.
  • Field Assignments are equivalent to an office assignment for the purpose of determining telework. Employees with field assignments are considered “in office” while in the field.
