Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services

Certified Peer Support & Recovery Professional (CPSRP) Credential

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) values the role of persons with lived experience in the behavioral health continuum of supports and services. The Department has worked with the peer support community to create one certification which is administered by The Connecticut Certification Board (CCB) and is aligned with national standards for this workforce.  Standards for training, examination and experience have been developed which are robust and provide a foundation for quality delivery of services.

Disclaimer: This Certified Peer Support & Recovery Professional credential is not a license and does not authorize the holder to practice independently.

The application and test to become credentialed as a CT Certified Peer Support & Recovery Professional (CPSRP) are available as of June 1, 2026.
