Division of Safety Services
Safety Education and Training Unit

Mission Statement
The mission of the Division of Safety Services, Safety Education and Training Unit (DSS/SETU), is to provide safety education and training courses to DMHAS employees and community partners. Courses are designed to reduce the rate and severity of consumer and employee injuries in adult behavioral health and forensic healthcare settings. SETU instructors pride themselves in using best practice standards in order to provide DMHAS employees the knowledge and skills needed to create and maintain safe, culturally-responsive, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented environments of care.

Vision

DSS/SETU envisions setting the standard for excellence in the areas of developing and providing safety education courses to ensure that all individuals working in, or receiving services in, adult behavioral health and forensic healthcare settings are safe.
