DMHAS Goals and Objectives for 2016-2018
Goal 1. Improve Quality of Services and Supports
- A. Use data and informatics to track system and service process and outcomes to inform design, policy, and decision-making, to reduce disparities, and to make efficient use of available resources
- B. Use data and informatics to promote continuous quality improvement and the delivery of person-centered, evidence-based care
- C. Identify and respond to emerging trends in health care
Goal 2. Increase Stakeholder and Community Partnerships
- A. Identify and establish meaningful ways for stakeholders (e.g., persons in recovery, family members, allies, community leaders) to participate in all aspects of system design, evaluation, and oversight
- B. Collaborate with stakeholders in eliminating discrimination against persons with behavioral health conditions
- C. Create mutually beneficial partnerships with other state agencies
- D. Cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships with local communities to build on existing resources and foster community inclusion
Goal 3. Develop Workforce across the System of Care
- A. Hire and retain quality staff
- B. Expand and support peer staff
- C. Align training resources with current needs and strategic priorities
- D. Cultivate career mobility
- E. Develop supervision infrastructure
- F. Plan and provide mentoring for succession
Goal 4. Promote Integration and Continuity of Care
- A. Provide holistic, person-centered, culturally and spiritually responsive, and integrated mental health, addiction, and primary care, including prevention, health promotion, and alternative and complementary approaches
- B. Develop Behavioral Health Homes and increase access to primary care
- C. Promote continuity across levels of care
- D. Further integrate mental health and substance use services within a behavioral health framework across the system of care
