Public Safety Data Network (PSDN) Equipment Refresh

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection/Division of Statewide Emergency Telecommunications (DESPP/DSET) and the Department of Administration Services/Bureau of Information Technology Solutions (DAS/BITS) are in the process of upgrading the state’s Public Safety Data Network (PSDN) equipment. The PSDN is responsible for the transport of NG911 call handling services, state and municipal radio services and many other public safety applications. The refreshed network equipment will provide the state’s public safety community with a more robust and dynamic network.

The upgrade will occur beginning in the second quarter of 2024 and ending in the second quarter of 2025. Representatives from DAS/BITS and DESPP/DSET will be contacting PSDN customers to inform them of their scheduled maintenance window. During services outages, PSDN customers may lose network connectivity which will affect any services operating on the PSDN. We encourage customers to have a backup plan in place to care for the services which may be impacted. We strongly encourage our customers to complete the PSDN Customer Contact Form so that we can better serve you throughout this process.
